In October the National Association of Purchasing Management (NAPM), the Federal Acquisition Institute (FAI), and Arizona State University (ASU) will take part in a live, virtual ribbon cutting ceremony via the internet.

The ceremony will break-ground on a cooperative agreement between NAPM, FAI, and ASU to develop an Internet-based educational program for those in public and private purchasing. NAPM will work closely with FAI to gather existing educational content, and present it in online courses. So far, six initial courses have been determined.

A multi-media presentation developed by ASUs information technology department will begin the live commemoration using computer-generated animation.

The actual ribbon-cutting, and a tour of the virtual university will kick-off the event, and then viewers will be taken live to Washington D.C. where representative from NAPM, FAI, and ASU will speak about the project and what is to come.If you are unable to watch the event live, you can return here anytime to link to an archived version of the ribbon cutting.
